Matthew 6:28~ And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. ~

Let me preface by saying I am not a pastor, theologian, priest or in any 'position'. In fact I only recently truly discovered my life in God (as opposed to the other way around, God in my life, which is how I always saw it) and I post this just to spread the Gospel. If this isn't to your liking, feel free to stop reading and for anyone else that might read this I implore you to keep an open heart and thank you :)

Part of the inspiration for the following series was Matthew 6:25-34 plus my love for my grandmother's flowers and photography, everything just came together.

The idea of photographing dahlias was because, when I think of 'why', why am I here on this planet & why was I created, I think of God. God created every single flower and every single blade of grass in intricate detail.

As an artist I know it takes a long time to draw something to make it look as realistic as possible. However, in the end it is still a flat 2-D drawing. Even 3-D animation takes plenty of time and effort. Now imagine God combined the two and did all of that to Every. Single. Flower. Every single blade of grass. Every single person. I always thought dahlias were so intricate and detailed because they have so so so many petals and there are just so so so many that can grow on a single plant. Plus they come in different sizes, shapes, colors, etc. In this series alone I show 3 completely different varieties.

People are the same, if not more, because we are growing, breathing, living, interacting, beings. We are all made for a purpose. We are all made with intention and everything about us was made with intention as well. From the color of our hair to the shape of our toes was made with great attention to detail. If we weren't so valuable and precious, then why don't we all just look the same?

And if God put so much effort into making every single flower look beautiful and stunning, then why wouldn't he put that effort in us? Another point from this section of Matthew's gospel is " Why Worry?" The birds in the sky are fed and the flowers in fields are watered and 'dressed' so why do we consume ourselves with thoughts of "what will I eat, what will I drink, what will I wear" Why do we worry? Why not just trust in God? There has been many many many times in my life when I just worried myself sick, whether it was about something as small as "do I look good in this?" to something heavy like "will my family member come out of the hospital?" And for what? The inward thoughts of worry did nothing to change any of these events.

I've had a rough go of things recently, from getting really bad ill, my mother became ill as well, pets died, a cousin died, surgery, lost job, etc. And the only thing that is true, that to this day connects any 'random' thing that has happened in my past, that will connect any 'random' thing that'll happen in my future is: Trust God.

All things will come to pass. Also, I have a purpose for being here. Every day I see more and more that every breath I breathe is valuable. Just as flowers whither and die, Why should I believe that my flesh won't undergo the same fate? I know it will.

But , having faith in God, my spirit will live forever. For now, I am here for a reason. I am valuable and precious and meant to be serving the Lord for his Glory, for my good. What I will drink, eat, wear, matters not, for I know God will take care of me. I've had near death experiences before in my life, and am still standing, not because I got lucky but because God has angels watching over me so I can fulfill His purpose for my life in the time I am permitted here on earth. For that I am thankful.

And I want you to know, you reading this, that you are also valuable and precious. You were made for a purpose and are here for a reason. Don't squander your life worrying, just trust in God, have faith and pray, and witness the miraculous things that happen :) Dont wait for things to happen for you (or to you) for you to truly activate God's power in your life. God bless you and God (and I) love you.
